Terms
Plain English, one page. These terms apply to every website I build and look after. When you reply "I agree" to a quote, or sign it, you're agreeing to them.
Version 1.1, last updated 26 October 2026.
Who I am
I'm Scott McAlister, the director of All Of The Above Productions Ltd. I trade as Grantham Web. The company is registered in England and Wales, company no. 14446064. Registered office: Pandle House, 70 Grange Road East, Wirral, CH41 5FE. Email hello@granthamweb.co.uk. In these terms, "I" and "me" mean the company.
1. What you get
- The website described in your quote (for example a one-page Starter site or a Business site of up to 5 pages).
- Each month: hosting, security updates, keeping your web address renewed, and small changes, which means up to 30 minutes of work a month (new opening hours, prices, a photo, a paragraph). Unused time doesn't roll over.
- Bigger changes (new pages, new features) are quoted first. Nothing extra is charged without your OK.
2. Prices and payment
- Setup: half when you say yes, half when your site goes live.
- Monthly fee: starts in the month your site goes live, paid by standing order or bank transfer.
- Prices are as in your quote. I'm not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
- If you change your mind before I start work, there's no charge.
- If you're a consumer (buying for yourself, not for a business), you have 14 days from agreeing to cancel without giving a reason. If you ask me to start straight away, you'll pay for the work I've done up to the point you cancel. This right doesn't apply to business customers.
3. If a payment is late
I'll send a friendly reminder. If a payment is more than 30 days late, I may pause your website until it's paid. I'll always tell you before I do.
4. Your web address
Your web address (domain) is registered in your name, with me managing it for you. It's yours.
5. Leaving
- No contract. Give a month's notice by email, any time.
- You keep your website. I'll send you all the files free and help move your web address to wherever you like.
- Bespoke sites with bookings or logins: you get all your data free. Moving the working system elsewhere is quoted up front.
- Hosting stops at the end of your notice month.
6. Your words, photos and logos
You confirm that anything you give me to use (words, photos, logos) is yours to use and is accurate. If something isn't, please tell me and I'll take it down.
Who owns what: once your setup is paid in full, you own the finished site design, plus the words and images you supplied, and I'll give you the files. Until then, it stays mine. Third-party parts, such as fonts, free-licence stock photos and code libraries, stay under their own licences.
7. Keeping things running
I'll do the work with reasonable care and skill. I keep backups and fix problems as quickly as I can, usually the same or next working day. No website can be promised to be online 100% of the time, as hosting companies have rare outages.
Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow me to limit. Beyond that, if anything goes wrong, my total responsibility is limited to what you've paid me in the last 12 months.
8. Information and privacy
If your site has a contact form, the messages go to you. I only handle them to keep the site working, keep them safe, and never use them for anything else. See the privacy note.
9. Showing my work
I may show your finished website in my portfolio, and link to it as an example of my work. Just say if you'd rather I didn't.
10. Changes and the law
If these terms change, I'll give existing customers 28 days' notice by email, and you can leave as in section 5. These terms are under the law of England and Wales.
11. Complaints
If something's not right, please tell me at hello@granthamweb.co.uk. I'll acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and send a full reply within 28 days. If you're still unhappy, I'll agree to use an independent mediator or dispute resolution service.
For data-protection complaints, please contact me first. If you're still unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I'll acknowledge those within 30 days.
12. Accessibility
I aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA. My sites are built to work at phone width, with readable text and keyboard access. No formal audit has been done yet. If anything is hard to use, tell me at hello@granthamweb.co.uk and I'll fix it.
